Origins

The first 'mini' Rex rabbits bred in the Netherlands, the result of crossbreeding Netherland Dwarf with Rex rabbit. They were exhibited in the Netherlands in 1966, as the Netherland Dwarf with Rex coat, and usually called Dwarf Rex. This rabbit rex developed both in the UK and the US for a species much like Rex standard of the Netherland Dwarf. The first Mini Rex Castor usually colored, but most varieties developed through further Dwarf Rex cross. Physical and coat also improved with a small cross-Rex Mini Rex rabbits with standard. Mini Rex is recognized in the US in 1988, and in England in 1990, the breed standard is very similar to Rex standard, except for the smaller size.

Appearance

Rabbits Mini Rex are small, weighing about 1.6-2 kg (3 ½ 4½lbs).

Mini Rex rabbit has a medium build, a round, solid-looking with strong legs, large head and erect ears. Mini Rex has short hair, soft, about 1.25 centimeters or ½inch long. Coat dense, smooth and level with the company, luxurious property. Rex rabbits have curly whiskers.

Temperament

Mini Rex rabbit is more alive than the general standard Rex, but still generally good and relaxed. They are intelligent and affectionate, very mother (often nurture other rabbits), and enjoy the company. Mini Rex rabbits are very active and can be noisy and fun. I'm not so good with the children because they are more alive, smaller and more fragile.

Special Requirements

Mini Rex does not need to care, if necessary, can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. Mini Rex rabbits are prone to sore hocks
