Origins

The Miniature Lion Lop ( Mini Lion Lop) is one of the newest and rabbit breeds were developed by Lionhead rabbit junction with small children falling. The Lionhead born in Europe as a result of a genetic mutation that causes hair growth 'mane' on the head. Lionhead is a large gene mutation before satin rabbits in 1932, and unlike other fur gene mutation is dominant. The breed developed in England from Lionhead rabbit imported with the gene 'mane', bred with other small children and descendants wool Dwarf. At the beginning of the development of the breed Lionhead, genes mane 'is introduced in England Miniature Lop breed (known as Holland Lop in the US). 

How genes 'mane' dominant through Lionhead purebred with other types, like Mini Lop, Lionhead produce offspring with genes. Mini Lion Lop was developed by selective breeding Mini Lops, Lionheads and hybrid Mini-Lop / Lionhead to establish breed standards of today. The Miniature Lion Lop is officially recognized by the British Rabbit Council in 2004, initially in several varieties, although some more colors since been recognized. (Lionheads been crossed with the Dwarf Lop largest (equivalent to Mini Lop in the US), for the production of nano Lops with a mane of Lionhead. This is commonly known as the Lion Lops, but not recognized by the British Rabbit Council). Lionheads were imported into the US from about 2000, in which both Lionhead and Lionhead Lop-eared offspring under development, but there has been recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA).

Temperament

 Miniature Lion Lops is very lively rabbit, although generally good-natured and friendly. They are active, fun and social and thrive on attention.

As Mini Lion Lop is a new type and still under development in many areas, the temperament may vary depending on the descent used to develop each line.

Special Requirements

Miniature Lion Lops susceptible to dental disease, a potentially fatal condition that is often hereditary. 

Select a rabbit with a good temperament and low risk of dental problems inherited from reputable breeders or rescue centers. 

Mini Lion Lops require additional treatment, the manes 'wool' must be swept once a week to prevent matting, the daily care required during moulting. 

Mini Lion Lops higher risk of hairballs in the developing world, which can cause fatal digestive problem.
