Origins

The Lop Thumbnail in the UK fell from first dwarf Lops developed in the Netherlands in 1950, known as the Holland Lops or Dwarf Lops. 

Dutch rabbit judge and breeder, Adrianne de Cock, is generally credited with developing the Holland Lop. He set out to create a miniature French Lop, by crossing the Dutch Dwarf Lop France, and while this does not result in a lop-eared rabbit, go cross the English Lops proved to be more successful. It was difficult to breed Dwarf Lops were quite small, but also has a good ear car (the effect produced Netherland Dwarf rabbit, and also introduces a variety of colors, but resulted in numerous erect ears rabbit). 

Year careful selective breeding rabbits resulted in very similar in type to French Lop yet much smaller, and Holland Lops about 2 kg was first shown in 1964. These were imported to the UK in 1970, and selectively bred to produce Dwarf Lop breed in England , recognized in 1977 by the breed standard weight around 2 kg. Meanwhile, Holland Lop breed society was established in the Netherlands in 1970, with the aim of breeding Holland Lops to 1.5  kg. The smaller Holland Lops then imported into Britain in 1980, and grew up with the smallest of the established Dwarf Lop breed Mini Lop to develop. 

The Miniature Lop Rabbit recognized by the British Council in 1994, with a maximum weight of 1.6 kg, and although it shares a common origin with Dwarf Lop, is considered a separate breed. (Minimum weight for Dwarf Lop breed standard was increased to 1.9 kg in 2000, establishing a clear distinction between simple and clear image Lop heavier and bigger Dwarf Lop). The Miniature Lop, Mini Lop often called, has become one of the most popular pet breeds and events. Appearance

The Miniature Lop is the smallest of lop-eared breeds, weighs about 1.4-1.6kg (3-3½lbs). 

Miniature Lops have a stocky build, with short body, thick-set, round thighs and short, powerful legs.The head is broad with a highly curved profile, and, wide thick ear hanging on the side of the head.

Miniature Lops may be self-colored (solid color) or white patches on the head, chest and legs.

Miniature Lops have a dense coat of soft, medium-length hair.

Mini Lops prone to dental disease , a fatal condition that is often inherited.
