Origins
The Rex rabbit comes from the French in 1920 and named for the rex gene responsible for a unique type of hair. Consisting of normal rabbit fur undercoat shorter, accompanied with long guard hairs. Rex fur is the result of a genetic mutation that causes the hair to be all the same length, giving a luxurious velvety texture. In nature, mutations occur quite frequently, and many offspring as a result of constant mutations through selective breeding program. The first Rex rabbits born in the village of louche-Pringe France in 1919, where the village priest was impressed with fancy coat and decided to breed it. Some of Rex rabbits are shown in international exhibitions in Paris in 1924, where they find great interest among farmers. Rex fur demand will lead to commercial overbreeding and degradation of the gene rex fur tends to make hair thin and sparse. Some serious breeders introduced to modify the genes of other descent and founded the Rex breed with fur quality is much better. Appearance

Temperament
Rex rabbits have a relatively calm temperament and are generally very good-natured. They are intelligent and affectionate, especially mothers (often nurture other rabbits), and enjoy the company. They can be very noisy and funny, but usually good with children and other pets.
